Datos biográficos:

Titulado en óptica, inicia estudios de periodismo y se gradúa en la EOC. Su primer largo "¿Qué hace una chica como tú en un sitio como este?" de su compañero de EOC Fernando Colomo. Su continuada colaboración con Imanol Uribe y Montxo Armendáriz lo convierten en el fotógrafo del cine vasco.

1997 Goya a la mejor fotografía por "El perro del hortelano"
2002 Goya a la mejor fotografía por "Los Otros"
2004 Goya mejor fotografía por "Soldados de Salamina"
2004 Premio nacional de cinematografía.
2005 Goya mejor fotografía por "Mar adentro"
